As Steve’s popularity grew, he was given an opportunity to host the prime slot on leading Australian electronic music radio program, Kiss FM, known as ‘Chameleon Radio’. Since it’s inception in 2008, Chameleon Radio is regarded as the highest rated program on Kiss FM.
After building such a solid fan base from his energy and the unpredictable nature of his sets, it was no surprise that Steve soon found himself sought after for various high profile remixes, the most noteworthy being his rework of Bush Records Classic ‘Man Alive by Devilfish’ which catapulted high onto Beatport’s Techno Charts and be a constant crowd favourite during his live experience.
A true scholar to his craft, Steve costantly provides his expertise and passion to a series of roles within the Electronic Dance Music industry. From establishing Capital DJ’s retail Techno Vinyl department and running its daily operations, to formally teaching students at the Australian School of Music Technology. Music is Steve’s life’s work therefore it is very important to him that he puts back into the industry what he takes.
The latest phase of Steve’s career has seen him successfully launch his record label; Chameleon Recordings. Their vision, to create a label comprising of cutting edge music that delivered the whole package in how each release was supported. Steve is also being aware of what things Chameleon can do to minimise its impact on an environmental scale. In doing so Chameleon is striving to be a 100% carbon neutral record label. From powering his “Green Studio” by solar energy to theirChameleon Tree Initiative, they are committed to establishing environmentally sustainable campaigns and programs. The tree planting initiative is their most popular to date.
His first and highly anticipated release with Chameleon, The Window Between Us and Them, gained instant success, being recognised by the likes of John Digweed, Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Christian Smith, Dubfire, Technasia, Groove Amada, Raveline (Germany’s most influential industry magazine who gave it a 5/5 star review) and its biggest accolade being featured as the closing track on Dave Seaman’s Global Underground Lithuania.
With his record label leaving industry boundaries in its wake, his label nights hitting capacity crowd time and time again, his music being played and charted by some of the biggest names in the global scene, it’s no doubt his name will be the hottest topic in 2011.
